The East West War, also known as the Dividing War, was a global conflict between the east and west sides of the continent Kotiin.
As populations grew and larger cities developed, political factions grew with them. The east side of Kotiin and the west side of Kotiin grew independent of each other, as land travel between the two sides was difficult. Boats and trading vessels eventually connected the two sides into one people. Soon, calls for a global political system rose, but differences between the East and the West made choosing a system very difficult. Discussions on how to unify the world started out civil, but soon grew more contentious and violent.
War was declared, and heavy fighting lasted for 18 long years. Looking like it would be a stalemate, the Westerners started researching technology to turn the tides and win the war, which is when Firearms were first invented. With more advanced firepower, the west wins the war.
As result of the west winning, the new government is decided, and the Federation is formed.
Peace returns to Kotiin for many years, until the Great Dragon War in 5123
